At Schlack & Bassmaji, we understand how a serious injury can uproot your life. The medical bills, lost wages, and recovery time can all take a huge toll on yourself and those that you love. It鈥檚 important to be as best prepared as you can for these unexpected situations, but that isn鈥檛 the case most of the time.

With injuries prevalent everywhere鈥搊n the street, in the workplace, even at home鈥搘e want to hear your experiences. It鈥檚 essential to raise awareness of the prevalence of injuries caused by someone else鈥檚 negligence.

This is why we are offering the 2025 Injury Advocacy Scholarship, aimed to bring attention to injuries that happened due to the fault of another. Submit your application and share your story before the September 1, 2025 deadline to be considered for this opportunity.

Eligibility

  • The scholarship is open to current high school seniors, vocational students, college students, or graduate students who are legal U.S. residents living in any of the 50 states or the District of Columbia. Applicants must be enrolled in a vocational program or a two- to four-year post-secondary institution.
  • Employees of Schlack & Bassmaji, their immediate family members (including parents, children, siblings, and spouses), and individuals living in the same household (whether related or not) are not eligible to apply.
  • Applicants must have a minimum GPA of 3.0 and be in good academic standing.

Application Requirements

  • The candidate must fill out the form below with all necessary information
  • The candidate must submit a 750-1,000 word response to the prompt: Essay topic: Have you or a loved one experienced an injury due to someone else鈥檚 negligence? Have you provided aid to someone who has had one of these experiences? Tell us about your situation and the things that have happened because of the injury you are describing. How have you advocated for the safety of the injured individual? Have you taken steps in the community to better protect those who are injured? What do you think could be done to better protect the rights of injured people? What do you think would be different in your life if you hadn鈥檛 had this experience?
    • Please note that all essays will be checked for AI writing. If AI writing is deemed present in the essay, the application will be denied.
  • The candidate must submit a professional resum茅 that lists their professional and academic experience.
  • The candidate must submit a transcript from their current school. First-year college students, graduate students, or individuals who have recently transferred schools may submit an unofficial transcript from their current school and the most recent official transcript from their prior school. High school students can submit proof of acceptance to their college or university.
  • Preference will be given to students from or attending the state鈥檚 secondary school.

The recipient of the 2025 Injury Advocacy Scholarship will be chosen during the month following the scholarship deadline. There will only be one recipient of this scholarship.
