New York State supports various industries, all of which pose dangers to employees. As students enter the professional workforce, O鈥機onnor Law wants them to consider what steps they can take to make their workplace safer. With that goal in mind, our New York Workers鈥� Compensation lawyers are proud to debut a new scholarship program.
Students have the opportunity to apply for O鈥機onnor Law鈥檚 Increasing New York Workplace Safety Scholarship beginning this year. The scholarship selection committee looks forward to awarding the $2,500 scholarship to a student with a proven record of academic success and community dedication.
How to Apply for the Increasing New York Workplace Safety Scholarship
O鈥機onnor Law is proud to make its Increasing New York Workplace Safety Scholarship available to undergraduate and graduate students in all fields of study. However, applicants must prove that they are:
- Enrolled in or accepted at a United States accredited college, university, or graduate school
- Agreeing to the scholarship鈥檚 terms and conditions
- Submitting all essential application materials, including a completed essay and application form
Students submitting essays for consideration should upload a .pdf of their essay along with their application form. O鈥機onnor Law and its scholarship selection committee will not consider applications submitted without all essential materials.
Scholarship Essay Topic
O鈥機onnor Law invites undergraduate and graduate students to think critically about the dangers of working in New York. Applicants should compose an essay between 500 and 1,000 words going into detail about:
- Their opinions on workplace safety in New York
- Concerns about the most dangerous industries in New York
- Examples of how to improve industry safety
Upon completion, students should save their essays as .pdfs and submit them along with the rest of their application for the scholarship selection committee鈥檚 consideration. Do not use AI to craft your essay. The use of AI will result in a student鈥檚 automatic removal from the application pool.
