DESCRIPTION
These scholarships are provided by the Friends of UPEI Calgary who began an annual fundraising dinner and auction in 1998. Founder and chair, Bill LeClair, and numerous volunteers organize this event which is held each year on the first Saturday in November in Calgary, Alberta.
CRITERIA
This scholarship will be granted to a student from Alberta entering the Bachelor of Nursing program or Accelerated Nursing program at UPEI. Preference will be given to a student from Calgary. The recipient must remain enrolled in a full-time course load in the Nursing program (5 courses/15 semester hours per semester) at UPEI. The applicant must have a minimum 80% average to apply and must maintain good academic standing with a minimum average of 80% in each year to be eligible for renewal. The scholarship is non-transferable and will not be awarded if no eligible candidate applies.
AWARD VALUE
The scholarship will be $5,000 in year one and $2,000 in each subsequent year, not to exceed a total of four years for the B.Sc. Nursing program and a total two years for the Accelerated Nursing program. APPLICATION PROCESS (Deadline: May 1)
