This scholarship contest is open to U.S. citizens or legal residents with a high school diploma, GED, or something similar.
To use the scholarship, you must start college or a trade school in the Fall 2026 or Spring 2027.
- No GPA or income requirements.
- Not open to family members of AFSA staff or national board members.
- If you鈥檝e won an AFSA scholarship before, you can鈥檛 win again.

Who Can Enter
To apply, you must:
- Be a U.S. citizen or legal resident
- Have a high school diploma, GED, or equivalent
- Plan to attend an accredited college, university, or trade school in the U.S.
How to Enter

3. Submit only once 鈥 multiple entries will be disqualified
Before funds are awarded, your information will be verified. Any false or misleading info will result in disqualification.
Awards: Scholarships for College or Trade School
- $1,000 each for five winners
- Money goes directly to your school for tuition or books
- Schools must be on the approved accreditation list or CHEA directory
Winner Selection
- Winners are chosen at random by computer after the contest ends
- Odds depend on the total number of entries
Winner Notification
1. Winners will be contacted by email and/or phone within 14 business days after the contest ends. You鈥檒l need to: Reply within 10 days of the email or phone call.
2. Prove you鈥檙e eligible by sending: A copy of your birth certificate, U.S. passport, or green card.
3. If needed, also send proof of citizenship from your original country.
4. You must send two forms of ID.
Once confirmed, AFSA will send you forms to give to your school. You lose the scholarship if you don鈥檛 complete everything within 60 days of the contest鈥檚 end.
Winners鈥 names will be posted on the website by October 2026.
